Rural Health Consumer Panel

Rural Health Consumer Panel text with rural landscape

The Rural Health Consumer Panel was launched by La Trobe University’s Violet Vines Marshman Centre for Rural Health Research in May 2022. Nearly 300 people from across rural Australia have joined the panel to share their experiences of rural healthcare.

The lived experience and wisdom of rural people is front and centre, guiding how research can make a real difference where it matters most.

Rural people are joining the panel because they are genuinely interested in improving rural healthcare for themselves, their families and their local communities.

“…It is great to have my lived experience appreciated and for me to raise the needs and interests of fellow rural and remote health consumers…” [panel member]

“…It is important to share our expertise and assist our thinking in how we can grow and contribute to our own communities and local organisations…” [panel member]

We would love to hear from you if you are interested in:

  • Sharing your experiences of rural healthcare
  • Partnering with us in future research
