Create evidence-based resources on the status of rural health
Advance policies and strategies to mitigate and adapt to climate change across both health infrastructure and services
Strengthen efforts to address the social & economic determinants of health
Promote better access to high-quality, affordable and integrated health care
Advocate for closing the health and wellbeing gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Support the expansion and recognition of training options, career pathways and support mechanisms for the rural health workforce
Promote sharing of relevant rural health data sources and experiences to enable meaningful rural health research, policy development, reform and translation
Advocate for a National Rural Health Strategy that relies on Federal and State/ Territory governments working together. It should include developing minimum service standards and level of care for rural and remote communities
Advocate for a National Rural Health Fund
Advocate for a Rural Health Innovation and Evidence Hub, hosted by the Alliance to learn and share the lessons from rural innovation across Australia

Coalesce diverse members’ views to develop policy positions and submissions to government and other stakeholders
Ensure rural voices are heard in policies and activities which addresses the impact of extreme weather patterns
Encourage culturally safe practices in the rural health sector, with guidance by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Grow the rural health research and evidence base through collaborations and sharing of what is learnt
Promote efforts and educate to improve health, health system and digital health literacy
Work with, champion and support rural communities on local innovative approaches and models of care, e.g. PRIM-HS model
Work with Federal government to ensure two-way exchange of information
Create partnerships with like-minded entities to achieve mutually beneficial goals.

Safeguard the Alliance’s financial sustainability and grow the revenue base
Strengthen the Alliance’s voice, visibility and engagement with rural, regional and remote communities
Engage with members, friends and allies of the Alliance to enhance health literacy and advocacy efforts
Unite and leverage the rural health workforce through collaboration opportunities for members and other stakeholders
Provide opportunities to educate Australians on rural health issues
