The Australian Journal of Rural Health (AJRH) has commenced continuous publication this year, which allows articles to be published online as soon as they are ready, instead of waiting for the entire issue to be completed. Readers are now provided with faster access to the final version of articles. A majority of articles have free access, and readers are encouraged to take this opportunity to learn about the latest research and trends in Australia’s rural health landscape.

In particular, a recent pilot project in Queensland published in the AJRH, “Student-Led Falls Prevention Program for Community-Dwelling Older Adults in a Rural Community: A Pilot Study,” helped rural older people obtain vital home assessments, which contributed towards making their homes safer. The researchers found that their innovative student-led placement model had the potential to provide much-needed access to falls prevention services and minimise falls among community-dwelling older adults in rural and remote locations.
