Submission
The National Rural Health Alliance has made a submission to the Inquiry into Epilepsy in Australia. The submission highlights epilepsy as an important health equity issue for people living in rural, regional and remote Australia. It outlines how distance, workforce shortages, service gaps, transport barriers and out-of-pocket costs can affect timely diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support.
The Alliance calls for a rural-responsive approach to epilepsy care, including strong local care pathways, improved access to specialist support, culturally safe services and better integration across health, disability and community supports.
