The National Rural Health Alliance (the Alliance) responded to the Review of the remoteness classification system for aged care. The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is reviewing the Modified Monah Model (MMM), a key tool used to determine funding and support for aged care services in regional, rural and remote areas. This review aims to assess whether the MMM appropriately reflects the challenges of service delivery in these areas and aligns with broader aged care reforms. The Alliance submitted a response, via an online survey, to ensure that the voices and needs of rural and remote communities are meaningfully represented.
