The Conference has a unique reputation as a meeting place for people involved with the health care of people who live in the diverse communities of rural and remote Australia - see welcome letter from the Prime Minister, The Hon Malcolm Turnbull.
The Conference provided a unique opportunity for consumers, clinicians, academics and students from rural and remote areas to exchange views with the many who work with and for country people but are based in major cities and regional centres. Almost 1,200 delegates attended the event.

The Conference Advisory Committee was very pleased to have Catherine McGrath perform the important role of Conference MC. Catherine is one of the country’s leading TV political and international reporters who is now a full time strategic media consultant, public speaker, MC and media trainer.
