Nurse Practitioners need to be embedded into General practice in Rural communities We need to work collaboratively with General Practice on building on their capacity and capability to support GP workforce sustainability They are asset rich in their comprehensive assessment skills particularly within chronic disease and aged care
Their scope of practice and clinical skills are also invaluable for increased access for marginalised consumers / communities for point of contact assessment and care management
Trialling of Nurse Practitioners models of care in rural primary health / General practice needs to be enabled and supported through Government
