It would be good to see some practical strategies for establishing innovative partnerships and building the capacity of local service providers in rural and remote areas though... The National Pain Strategy identifies the need to make rural and remote populations, as well as ATSI people in pain specifically a priority, however, the gap between access to services in urban versus rural/remote locations has only widened...

Maybe there is a way to get key recovery messages out to rural and remote populations more effectively - or equip those health workers working in these areas with key information (e.g. by embedding this knowledge into the rural generalist training pathway or creating a Cert III or IV training program in pain that could be made accessible to a wide range of health practitioners working in rural and remote locations).
