CCK Recommendation 495

The Australian government must adequately fund data agencies such as AIHW , in consultation with Australia's child health expert bodies, to provide key data relating to the health, wellbeing and the healthy development of Australia’s children. Without it, those in Australia (including government) concerned about the health of children are flying blind. Wherever possible, data should be available for small areas because aggregation to the usual larger areas effectively hides areas where the situation is especially bad and serious assistance for children is especially necessary.
