CCK Recommendation

Government must commit to longer term funding of rural and Indigenous projects and not cut successful programs just because there has been a change of government. Progress on Indigenous health has been hampered by regularly changing government policy.

Recommendation Type:

Committed longer term funding is essential for the service to build trust with the community. All health programs that are funded should have a clear set of outcomes and if they achieve the outcomes than ongoing funding must be guaranteed.

Similarly programs should not have funding cuts because of short term goals being achieved, these programs need commitment and stability in order to achieve in the long term.
