Public consultation

The Australian National Standards of Care for Childhood-onset Heart Disease (CoHD) have recently been published for the final cycle of public consultation. As well as addressing comprehensive specialist care needs, these standards include the provision of coordinated care across the regions and address the mental health and neurodevelopmental needs of children and families impacted by CoHD.

Work on the standards began in 2020 and is the first prioritised key focus area in a plan to address CoHD in Australia. The second draft of the CoHD Standards is open for public consultation until the end of 2022.

Feedback from regional and rural frontline health professionals and consumers would be highly valued, via feedback form or contact [email protected] for further information.
