In a report published on ABC Online, syndicated across ABC Radio News and regional ABC stations across Australia, the National Rural Health Alliance Chief Executive Susi Tegen called on rural, regional and remote Australians to speak up and advocate for better health services.

Emphasising that people in rural Australia have vastly worse health outcomes than their metro counterparts, Ms Tegen said a deterioration in services came down to workforce shortages.

However, Ms Tegen said people should not be deterred from moving regionally.

“You will have opportunities in rural Australia that you would never have in the city … but the problem is that the infrastructure expenditure of governments is not occurring [here],” she said.
