SBS television has featured a story on the mental health workforce crisis in rural and remote areas of Australia.
The segment, broadcast on 23 January, includes a short interview with Alliance CEO, Mark Diamond, as well as interviews with Martin Laverty (CEO, Royal Flying Doctor Service) and Frank Quinlan (CEO, Mental Health Australia).
While rates of mental illness in rural and remote Australia are similar to that of major cities, the segment highlights the fact that access to mental health services in rural and remote areas is substantially more limited.
