The National Rural Health Alliance calls for more patient monitoring methods in rural and regional areas to help reduce preventable deaths.

With reference to research published by Wendy Augutis – a CQUniversity researcher – in the Australian Journal of Rural Health, Chief Executive Susi Tegen said, ‘Being able to provide good patient care relies on records being up to date.’

‘Some of them are still part paper, part IT system. So, there's a disconnect and a break in the patient’s journey and the patient's treatment,’ Ms Tegen said.
