Equitable cancer care

Tuesday, 12 March 2024

Our policy team, Margaret Deerain and Clare Fitzmaurice, along with Dr. Ian Kamerman, a passionate GP from Tamworth and representative of Rural Doctors NSW, made their voices heard before the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs.

Their mission? To advocate for the unique healthcare needs of rare cancer patients living outside urban centers.

This crucial hearing spotlighted the specific challenges faced by rural patients in accessing diagnosis and treatment for rare and less common cancers, including neuroendocrine cancer.
