The Alliance attended the launch of the Pharmacy Guild’s Discover More. Ask your Pharmacist campaign. The campaign aims to increase awareness of the services provided by pharmacists and how community pharmacies assist with healthcare. It focuses on the key service areas of: after hospital care, in-home care, health checks and advice and pain management. The launch was well attended by health professionals, pharmacists and politicians who highlighted the important role of community pharmacies within a comprehensive suite of health services. For people in rural and remote Australia, access to medicines and professional pharmacy services is an ongoing issue. The Alliance explored this in a discussion paper that identified a number of areas for investigation that can ameliorate access issues.
