The Alliance Chief Executive Susi Tegen spoke to WINNEWS on the Alliance’s recommendations for the upcoming federal budget in May.
The Alliance’s three key recommendations, worth over $25 million, include establishing Primary care Rural Integrated Multidisciplinary Health Services (PRIM-HS) in targeted communities, a National Rural Health Strategy and creation of a RuralHealthConnect Network to bridge evidence and action and to improve the access, effectiveness and translation of government investment in rural programs.
“If we have a National Rural Health Strategy underpinned by a federal and state government compact to work together to address health access and health outcomes for rural people, we would be a little bit further towards solving the problem,” said Ms Tegen.
