The National Rural Health Alliance has developed the Rural Health Workforce Mapping Tool (RHWMT) to show disparities in the health workforce across rural, regional and remote areas of Australia. Users can search for Commonwealth Electorate Divisions, Local Government Areas, or national-level Modified Monash Model remoteness regions.
The data presented in the RHWMT comes from the Australian Government Department of Health’s National Health Workforce Dataset, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare’s Mortality Over Regions and Time books, and the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ National Health Survey. Workforce figures are compared against Modified Monash Model 2 regions (regional centres). More information about the methodology and sources is available in the technical notes located here.
