Announcing the 2020 Friends Photo and Poetry Competition.
Let's celebrate life in rural and remote Australia. The past year has seen devastating drought, fires, floods and a world-wide pandemic. Despite this, people in rural and remote communities in Australia remain strong and positive.
Through photographs and poetry this competition aims to showcase the beauty of rural and remote Australia, and celebrate the strength and character of our vibrant rural communities.
We are seeking entries focussing on the #loverural theme. Images and words that connote such things as everyday life in the bush, personal experiences with drought, flood or bushfires, providing health services, parenting children, caring for others, farming, relationships, education or perhaps how you coped with isolation and social distancing during this COVID-19 pandemic.
Entries open: 1 July 2020
Judging: Entries will be judged by a panel from Friends of the Alliance with the top 20 entries in each category featured on the Alliance’s website. Members of Friends of the Alliance will then have the opportunity to vote for their favourite entry.
Who can enter: Entries are open to all members of the rural and remote health community (except professional photographers and poets). There is a limit of two entries per participant in each category.
Prizes: There will be a First Prize of $200 and Second Prize of $100 awarded in each category.
