Getting to Grips with the NDIS in remote areas - Communique

26 June 2014

The National Rural Health Alliance and the National Disability and Carer Alliance organised a meeting in Mount Isa as part of their ongoing work to make the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) fit-for-purpose for rural people. The group of interested individuals and agencies at the meeting agreed on a range of topics of particular importance for rural people. These included an information campaign to help relieve anxieties about what the new scheme will mean for clients and carers, including things being learned from the rural and remote elements of the four trial sites.
